Geofence Troubleshooting Guide

Overview

Due to recent iOS updates, geofence permissions are not always automatically granted and may need to be requested again. If you're experiencing issues with geofencing — such as check-ins not registering — this guide will walk you through the built-in Geofence Debug Screen to diagnose and fix the problem.

How to Access the Geofence Debug Screen

  1. Open the Member App and go to the Profile tab

  2. Scroll down to Settings

  3. Under Preferences, select Geofence Information

This will open the Geofence Debug Screen.

What You'll See

At the top of the screen, you'll find two permission statuses:

  • Foreground Permission – whether location access is granted while the app is in use

  • Background Permission – whether location access is granted while the app is running in the background

Both must be granted for geofencing to work correctly.

Fixing Missing Permissions

If either permission shows as not granted, tap the "Re-Request Permissions" button. This will manually trigger a new permission request, allowing you to grant the required access.

After granting permissions, geofencing should resume as expected.

Confirming Geofencing Is Working

If your geofence is active and functioning correctly, you'll see a check-in/check-out history listed below the permission statuses — a log of every time you entered or exited the geofence area.
